Proverbs 31:27 states "She watches overe the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness".

You will find that these household cleaning tips are natural and much safer for your family and home than the harsh chemicals found in cleaning products today. It only takes a short time to mix them up and it will save you lots of money, especially if you need a money makeover!

Most people invest alot of money in products to clean certain areas of the home. There are glass cleaners, carpet cleaners, bathroom cleaners, and the list goes on and on. These products can be dangerous to your home, your family, and your environment. Using organic products to clean provides a nontoxic environment for everyone, including the furry species! I hope you will try them out and tell your friends too! Let's get started with these household cleaning tips now!

For the kitchen, there are only four items you will need. They are white vinegar, lemon juice, baking soda, and salt. Wow!

--Hardwood, lanoleum, or tile floors: Mix 1/2 cup white vinegar with one gallon of hot water in a bucket. Mop as usual.

--Ovens: Mix one tablespoon of baking soda, one tablespoon salt, and then add 1/2 cup of hot water. This will form a pasty mixture to apply to the oven. Heat slightly, allow it to cool, then wipe off with a damp cloth.

--Cabinets: Mix 1/4 cup of lemon juice with one quart hot water. This will help remove any greasy residue from wood or metal. To polish afterwards, purchase a gallon of citrus oil from any home improvement store or department store.

--Dishwashing by hand: Fill a spray bottle with 3/4 water and 1/4 lemon juice. Lemon juice is an excellent cleaner and grease fighter.

For your laundry, you will need three products. These are washing soda, white vinegar, and salt. Please do not use bleach as it is one of the most toxic substances for the environment. Using washing soda only costs pennies per load and is safe.

--White laundry: Mix 1/4 cup washing soda and 1/4 cup white vinegar to water.

--Colored laundry: Use 1/4 cup of white vinegar and 1/4 cup salt. The salt will restore color and remove dirt and grease.

Bathrooms are usually the most dreaded place to clean, so I'll try to make it a little easier for you. You can use the same products that you used in your kitchen for the bathroom! Here's how:

--Glass cleaner: Use one to two tablespoons of white vinegar mixed with one quart of water in spray bottle. For tough spots, use rubbing alcohol on clean cloth.

--Shower doors: Use 1/4 cup white vinegar mixed with 3/4 cup hot water.

--Floors: Use the same mix as for the kitchen floors.

Here are some more suggestions for the other areas of your home!

--For carpets, you have three choices, which are baking soda, salt, or cornstarch. If using salt or cornstarch, just sprinkle it onto your rug or carpet, let sit for 15-30 minutes and then vacuum. To control odors, mix baking soda with the salt, sprinkle over carpet, let sit for 30 minutes and then vacuum. For a fresh inviting scent for your room, sprinkle it with cinnamon or allspice, let sit for 15 minutes and then vacuum.

--Furniture Polish: Here again, use the citrus oil that you purchased for the kitchen cabinets. Dab a small amount onto a clean cloth and you're on your way.

--Wood Floor Polish: Use one cup of citrus oil in one gallon of water.

--Wooden Blinds: In an empty spray bottle, use 1/4 cup citrus oil, fill with water. Spray on blinds and wipe with a fabric softener sheet.

--Polish Chrome: Use cider vinegar. Also great for removing pet odors.

--Air Freshner: Use a cotton ball dipped in vanilla. You can also simmer a small pot of cinnamon or cloves on the stove.

--Clogged Drains: Pour 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/2 vinegar into drain. Wait two minutes, then pour in two quarts boiling water. Repeat if necessary.
